Project

Medical tourism online is advertised with the language of a product of consumption. We transposed real promos of medical tourism found on Instagram into a digital catalogue. The deals and promos on cosmetic surgeries aim at exposing mass marketing language and objectification. Through this processes we could also objectively analyze how Instagram is becoming a full-on e-commerce platform, even though users still believe in the photo-sharing platform they first met when the platform entered the market.
